Nov 28th

Well first off this week was really good!  I hope you all had a great time in San Diego!  It was a great thanksgiving here.  Emily keep killing it in soccer!  Hailey keep dancing!  Ashley keep being a Leader, and KJ as well!  Aja keep studying and seeking revelation.  Mom and Dad, thank you for everything you guys do!  You have truly helped me out in my life!  I love you guys!  

Monday:

Well this day we had a lesson with Victor Vera.  He is a member that has to stay in his bed, he has a tube connected to his throat to breath.  Sometimes he can put a different one in to talk.  He hasnt been able to for a while now, and this day he did!  It was really cool!  Also on the way home this dog that always follows us (rocky)  attacked a small dog and knocked him down a ledge right next to the river, so I jumped down and saved the little guy!  It was fun!  I didnt get in the river though!  Dont worry!  Also we found a guy named Luis, and we shared the Gospel with him!  It was really cool!  I enjoyed it a lot!

Tuesday:

We were able to do some service for a member and his soon to be wife.  It was cool.  We were also able to leave with a member of the Bishopric of Holzaphel ( the other ward) and we visited some less actives and members of the ward!  It was fun!  It was a good opportunity to get to know the guy.  He is a great man.

Wednesday:  

Earlier yesterday we had visited with a kid named Abner.  He is the only member of his family.  In the evening we walked and did some contacts when we felt that we should contact someone, so we did.  Turns out that he is Abners dad!  We were able to set up a lesson with him, it was a blessing to see.  We also found a lady named Graciela.  We shared with her the Plan of Salvation.  It was good.  

Thursday:

THANKSGIVING!!!  Well it was a great thanksgiving!  In the begining of the day we had a correlacion with our ward mission leader.  He is doing good.  He put a bunch of videos to share with people the new iniciative of Iluminate the World!  It will be very useful!  We later had a lesson with a man who had been sharing with the sisters for a long time.  So we were able to teach him the Restoration very simply and at the end we invited him to Baptism.  He accepted!  He would like to be baptized in January!  That will be really cool!  Later on we had thanksgiving dinner with a couple of other Elders, it was very feeling!  We actually had a whole turkey. 

Friday:

Well we played a little bit of arco arco with some kids that invited us to play.  It was fun!  And I feel like we lightend there days.  Also we had a Zone counsel and it was very Spiritual and we were all edified from it.  Also this is when we got the pass along cards for Iluminate the World.  They are really cool! It will help alot!

Saturday:

This day was a little harder.  We had a lesson with Andres and basically he is still looking for an anwser about the Book of Mormon, however feels he needs to finish some things in his other church first, and organize his life a little bit more.  Then we had a lesson with this man who right as we got to the first vision, he absoulutly shut us down.  Responding to his reaction the spirit took over, however in the end he still refused to listen and accept any more.  We learned a lot from this day!  Therefore it was good!

Sunday:

Today was a great day!  I truly felt the spirit a lot!  We were also able to give the Sacrament to Victor Vera and show him the video for Christmas.  I could also feel Charity for the people in the street this day it was a good feeling!

Nov 21st

Hey guys!  First off to start, this week has been pretty crazy.  Just to start off now instead of having two sectors of Collico and Calle Calle; I have three!!  They took out the Sisters in Holzaphel.  Now Elder Johnson and I are working with 2 wards.  It has been a week full of suprises.  I am so glad to hear about all the fun you guys are having.  I hope you all enjoyed Fall Ball and I hope you all have a blast in San Diego and St George!  I imagine that it will be nice to get away from school for a weekend!  I am also so glad to hear that Kerri is going out!  She will have a blast!  She will do great!  Anyways here comes the weekly log.  

Monday:

On monday it was kind of sad.  I was avised that one of the Sisters in the district is going home..  I still dont know why, but it was sad to hear.  So we had to plan a district meeting on the fly for tuesday.  We also had the opportunity to go to a members house and share with them a little.  Afterwards we went to visit a less active family, but that didnt work.  However it was still a good Monday. For some background info, our new President changed some rules.  Now we can drink Mate in the house only, also we can drink coca cola, and play soccer!  However when we play soccer we have to play with the Sisters and only they can score...  But thats something we did and it was fun.  

Tuesday:

This day to be honest a lot of things fell.  However we were able to have a District Counsel because the Sister had to leave early Wednesday.  So I bought a cake for the district and it was great!  The Counsel in itself was great as well.  I felt that the Spirit really guided us, and it was great!  It motivated me to keep going strong.

Wednesday:

This day we had a lesson with Andres he said he was all good to go to church on Sunday, and everything.  He said that he is truly searching for an anwser!  He told us his life story of how God talks to him, and it was really cool to see the hand of God in his life.  This is also the day when we were avised that we now had the Sisters sector.  It was a shock.  Also this day we were avised that we are going to have to move!  Wow we are now searching for another house!  Haha it will be a fun transfer!

Thursday:

This day we had a ward counsel it was good.  Also we had two coorelacions with the ward mission leaders from both wards.  It was a day of a lot of coordination.

Friday:

We had another ward counsel today with the other ward!  It was cool to get to know them a little bit more.  It was cool.  

Saturday:

This day we had a lesson with Andres, and we taught the Restoration another time, and in a really simple way.  We did it mainly so that he would understand why were are trying to recieve and anwser and about what.  It was pretty great.  Also this day a drunk guy on the street thought I was German and told me I was a horrible person because I burned a bunch of Jewish people.  It was interesting.  

Sunday:

Well we went to two Sacrament meetings today.  It was cool!  Also we had the Primary Programs, and it was awesome!!!

Nov 14th

Well first off this week was great!  We saw a ton of blessings and felt joy working!  I am glad to hear about all the fun your all having!  That is awesome that you all had the opportunity to have a fireside with Elder Ballard!  I am happy that Dad got to spend a lot of time with him.  That must have been a great opportunity.  To talk about the college thing.  I honestly havent put to much thought into it.  However I will fast and pray about it.  I just had some other things that I was thinking about.  I will explain in this email.  For Christmas my comp wants a puppy, do you think you could send that?  We actually dont know if we have a transfer or not, I dont think so.  I believe I will finish the training with him.  I am excited.  For Christmas I just want cards and pictures that is alright with me.  You dont have to send anything big.  Alright to start off!  

Monday:

Well like I said last week we went on a trip on monday and it was a blast!  It was so cool and honestly a booster for me because we saw other missionaries that are in San Jose my old sector right now.  Two of the investigators with whom We started teaching are now baptized!  It was such a blessing.  As well we had to pass San Jose to get back to Valdivia and I felt a lot of love for that town.  It was a tender mercy.

Tuesday:

This day we had lesson with Andres.  We got to his final doubt.  We have been anwsering all of his questions and I have come to understand why all evangelist churches say what they say.  That will help in the future.  So with him we decided to start a fast.

Wednesday:

This day we had a lesson with Nelson.  He is lossing some of his memory, but we are still going to keep working with him little by little so that he can retain his memory.  We will see his progression.  We also set up a lot of lessons with contacts which was pretty cool!  We also had a district meeting and the spirit was really able to testify and help us.  I also learned something I can change and make better.  I am excited to keep changing.  

Thursday:

We had a lesson with Andres again, and it is basically do or die at this point.  Wehn his wife is in the store she always tries to argue with us, and tries to make him doubt.  It is a little hard.  We are going to start the fast tommorow.  Basically at this point we had shared all the basic doctrine.  We hoped and prayed for the fast to anwser his prayer.  We also had a broadcast with Elder Rasband and he talk about ward council.  It was cool!  

Friday:

Alright this day we started the fast,  we also were able to teach a lesson to the nurse of a home bound member.  We taught her about prayer!  The spirit was there it was really cool!

Saturday:

This day we had a Zone Conferance with the mission president.  It was really cool!  The spirit was there, also we all got to eat sushi!  It was awesome!  Well at 9 that night we had a lesson planned with Andres in the church.  So we went to the store and he said he wouldnt be able to make it, however he said he had recieved an anwser.  So he gave us some scriptures to read to descrie his anwser.  So we went to the church and read them with our ward mission leader and we soon came to understand that it was a future doctrine attack he would attempt.  So we tried to not think that, and kept on praying for him.  

Sunday:

Well during my personal study this day I was super frustrated for what had happened with Andres.  So I just spent the whole time thinking about the future contention we had all predicted.  So it was quite discouraging.  Then we went to church, and while in church I felt like a failure because of my human weekness and was praying for forgiveness.  I was really beating myself up when all of the sudden an old investigator, with whom had tried to attack me and say that she will never exceopt our message walked in with her soon to be husband who is a member.  It was a real tender mercy.  Whe later had a lesson with her in Gospel Principles and she had a softer heart.  That wasnt the best part of the day.  Earlier I had been feeling at peace on friday and after my studies on sunday.  With Andres I just felt everything was going to be ok, and I trusted that God was just.  Then we had a lesson with Andres.  Our mission leader and him start bible bashing!!! The spirit was definitly not there, and you could feel the spirit of contention.  I wanted to stop the bashing, but for some reason the spirit didnt allow me to open my mouth.  Then I went to a scripture in Mosiah 4:9 I believe, and waited for the right moment.  When it came the spirit testified with power.  I dont remember really a lot of what happened, I just remember what generally talked about.  The spirit said some really bold things.  It basically told him we fasted for a anwser and you came back with a doubt and the spirit then dirrected us to explain Faith and Testimony and then I bore my testimony.  The spirit was really strong.  He is going to fast and pray again, however this time with Faith.  It was a tender mercy, and it showed me that even though I am weak God isnt and he is just and wont allow my weeknesses to stop one of his children from recieving the Gospel.  It was awesome and I felt humbled.  I have Faith that if he does it all over with Faith this time, he will recieve an anwser. 

That was my week so far.    

Nov 7th

Hey today we went on a trip!  We recieved permision yesterday and now we are basically in the tip o the mission.  We are in a place called Pucon.  Therefore I dont have a ton o time to write.  It has been cool we saw a huge volcano and some cool waterfalls.  I am so glad to hear about all the un and success your are all having.  I am so glad to hear about Chad Hardy and Nate Hughes coming over to eat!  They are huge studs and I respect them a lot.  When I was with them I ully didnt understand all the things they had learned or because they did certain things.  Now I still dont have as much time as they did, but I have come to understand them and a little bit why they did some of the things they did.  I have a ton of respect for them and consider them as really great friends!  Please send them my love and give them thanks for their compliments.  I have a greater desire to change some things now because o their comments.

Alright here is the daily log so far.

Monday:

It was a holladay this day, and Halloween.  It was cool their wasnt a lot o action in the streets, like Utah.  However if you didnt anwser the door teens would egg your house.  So we saw some eggs on some of the houses.  In the street some kids asked us for candy and we didnt have any so I pulled a card out of my back pocket and they got scared when I did it.  I guess I didnt it in a scary way, but we gave them all a pass along card!  It was cool!  Then we visited a couple that just got married!  They happened to have a friend over, and we were able to share a scripture about Faith with them.  It was awesome and we could really feel the spirit!  We believe we helped her out.

Tuesday:

With a lot of our contacts this day we set up lessons and times to come back!  God really does prepare his children.  During lunch our mamita gave us some o the best empanadas I have ever tried!  She really cares for us!  In the morning we saw a robbery after we did exercises.  It was cool because I didnt feel scared, there have been many scary situations in my life and God really has protected me!  I am very grateul for that.  We also had a lesson with Andres and he is going to read Joseph Smith history and he thinks that will help a lot of his doubts!  

Wednesday:

Today we had a district meeting, and the spirit really guided us, I dont know if the comitment was good, but we felt the spirit and I could feel love towards the missionaries in our district.  Then we had an activity of ping pong and in the end we shared a scripture that really brought the spirit and we felt as if it really helped a teen that was there.

Thursday:

Today we got an urgent call to give a blessing of health to the grand daughter of a women in our ward, we were able to give it and feel the spirit guide us.  Also during our coorelacion with our ward mission leader I elt love for him.  

Friday:

There was a riot in downtown and we had to go down there for a couple of things and I felt that God protected us.  Also we shared an scripture about sharing the Gospel with a member family and yesterday recieved two rerences on the same street they live in.  They are preaching by there example and now people what to learn!  Also we killed our house with bug spray because Elder Johnson is having a lot of flee bites.  

Saturday:

We saw the grand daughter that we gave a blessing too, two days ago.  See is perfectly fine now.  Gods power is real!  I am out of time now!  Love you! 

October 31st

Well I love you guys!  I am so glad to hear that you all are doing well!  Keep doing awesome!  You are all great examples to me!  That truck dad bought is awesome!  Ashley keep doing well in school!  Kj you have got a stellar truck, and keep doing your best in seminary!  Hailey keep on dancing!  Aja watch out for the ring!  Emily keep on scoring for me!  Mom and Dad you are great parents and have taught me a ton!  Thanks for your great Christlike attributes!  

To start of, This week has been great, we have seen a lot of blessings this week!  

Monday:

To start of Monday was awesome!  We had a lesson with Andres and helped him out with one of his doubts.  It is hard to have the spirit strongly present and that is because we teach him in a store, and people always come in and buy stuff.  however he is progressing really well!

Tuesday:

We talk to Andres a lot and had a lesson with him today as well!  We walked a lot this day, but we found some potential people and it was cool!  Then at night I got a call from the zone leaders telling me that the verifications have changed.  Therefore I dont call the missionaries in the district unless its an emergency, unless it is Sunday.  It will be cool the President is changing a lot of stuff to the basics!  I am excited to see what happens next.  What he is doing gives us more time to focus on our sectors and the work.   

Wednesday:

We had a lesson with Nielson.  It was cool!  We watched a 20 minute video of The Restauracion.  The spirit was there.  He doesnt remember a lot.  He is getting older.  However we have plans to keep teaching him, but more frequently in order to help him remember.  Then we had an activity of sports and played basketball.  A less active member came and brought a friend!  His name is Felipe.  He seems a little stand offish, but we are becoming good friends with him, and hoping he softens up a little!  Also we were able to do some service for a member, by cutting grass with a hoe.  Old fashion style!  It was a ton of fun!  

Thursday:

We saw the good will of our Bishop when we were having mission coorninacion with or ward mission lider and the Bishop came searcing for a wheelchair in the church in order to help a neighboor.  it was a good example to me.  Then I started reading that Articles of Faith in spanish and it is pretty cool!  Really dificult to read in spanish but it is helping me!  Then we were able to find a investigator called Patricio and he didnt seem to interested, but we are going to keep trying!

Friday:

Me and Elder Johnson had a pretty cool expereince!  we had a another lesson with Andres and we talked about family history and I could feel the spirit of Elijah.  we also had a lesson with another investiator who knows the truthfullness of the Gospel but just cant get baptized until she gets married or moves.  she is not to willing to do that.  

Saturday:

The coolist thing that happened this day was that we went to he store of Andres late at night and he asked us to take 6 pounds of bread and give it to the people who need bread!  We were able to be instruments in Gods hands and we gave all the bread away.  We helped 4 families that really needed help!  I had a desire to search for different ways to serve others.  Also now Andres is reading Joseph Smith history!  

 

That has been a great week so far! Love you all!  

October 24th

Well now that I cant do the chat thing.  I have to write really quick.  This week has been pretty great!  I am glad to hear that every one had fun with the weekends and boating.  Dad sent me some great pictures.  That is weird that Monique, Justine and Mallory are married.  Strange.  However I am very excited for them.  Now Aja!  You watch out!  This Conner kid is a reuturned missionary.  I am in the mission and know what passes through our heads.  I bet in one week he will be on a knee.  So watch your back!  I love the pictures you guys have all sent me.  That is so cool that you guys are all getting so fit!  I have reacieved all the packages you have sent I believe.  Our Investigators are progressing for the most part and we are seeing blessings!  Also we are getting a lot better with our mornings here.  We now wake up at 6:30 and do someting like insanity with our ward mission leader.  It has been fun, and we are going to keep going!  Other than that!  I will write down the daily log thing I have been doing!

Monday:

Well I was honestly a little frustrated this day for some things that happened, however I saw the blessings of these things later on in the week.  

Tuesday:

We had a lesson with Andres, He has a lot of detailed questions about the temple that he wants anwsered.  We have been able to help him out with that, but he still has some questions.  He however is progressing a lot!  Also a little kid put a toy gun that looked real in my face.  Haha it kind of scared me!  He is a good friend of ours!  Then something scary happened and we said a prayer when we got home and I know that the sector we are in is a little scary, but I truly feel that angels are protecting our house and have often felt there presance.

Wednesday:

We found a new investigator.  He is cool!  I learned the importance of loving Gods children.  Then we had a Ping pong activity and a non member came, and wants to come next week!

Thursday:

We had an inter cambio and had a lesson with Nelson.  He is kind of old and the sister that invited him to take the lessons and often went of subject, but God gave us pacience and helped us stay on topic!  In the end we invited him to Baptism and he accepted.  

Friday:

We had another lesson with Andres and he still has questions about the temple.  We brought a member and he understood more fully what he was trying to say.  However in my studies the Spirit showed me a couple of things to help him.    

Saturday:

We had District meeting and the Spirit really guided the meeting!  It was awesome!  Then I scared Elder Johnson by screaming!  It was funny!

Sunday:

While walking in the street a man stopped me and basically told us that he knows he has never heard our message, but one day he will, and that we should keep going strong!  That was a blessing!

Oct 17th

Monday:  

This day we left with our mission leader to visit a member named Carlos.  It was good and we found a service project we were able to help with.  Latter on we visited another member who is going to get married the end of this month.  We also were able to help him with some service latter on in the week!  It was fun, and we will probalby help him latter on this week.  It is was an edifying experiance.  

Tuesday:  

The sisters in our district were moving houses and we were able to help them paint there house.  That took up a lot of what we did that day, however it was fun and it really  helped the sisters.  

Wednesday:

This day we had a lesson with Andres.  A member came with us and it was a good lesson.  We talked about the Priesthood.  It was a good lesson.  He is really progressing!  Then we helped the sisters move into their new house.  We also helped Carlos a member dig and we found a potatoe so we played baseball with a potatoe!  That was fun.  Then we could help another memeber with some service and it was great!    

Thursday:

We had another lesson with Andres he had a lot of questions about the second coming.  Then we helped the stake set up a couple of things for an activity.  Then we went to visit a member and she had friends over.  We were able to share a little bit with them and have another date to reuturn!  

Friday:

This day I was a little sick, but Andres owns a store and gave me some medicine that really helped me!  He is nice and has become a big example to me!  He is a great man! 

Saturday:

We had another lesson with Andres and he is progressing a ton.  Then there was an activity an the member that had friends over brought her friend to a stake activity.  It was great!  Elder Johnson and I are getting along really well, and we have become really great friends!  Also God really helped me with this cold I got!

Sunday:  A pretty normal day.  It was the end of our week, and we felt really good about it!  Then the Bishop called us and gave us good news about the ward is going to have a FHE on friday!  It will be great!

New Companion

Haha my ¨son¨ is Elder Johnson from west jordan.  He is a really nice guy and just wants to work!  I am so glad to hear about Hailey and her progression.  I think those things will and have really helped her out.  conrats to Dad Kj and Aja!  that is so cool that they ran so far.  Ashley is already checking out schools? Kj?  Sean and his purple kilt, that is so sick!  Thanks for sending me all of those pictures!  I am glad to hear that he is doing well!  It is so true what you say about Gratitude it is so important!  We often are too much like those fish!  Humility is really the key to everything!  The Gospel really brings Joy as well!  Mom I love you!  

This week has been pretty crazy!  To show you how the wek was I will write down the blessings I saw everyday.

Monday: 

As a zone we went to a beach called Niebla.  It was very pretty.  It is amazing to me.  The creations of God.  I got to chat with you ad Dad that was a huge blessing.  Also seeing the blessings of God in the family.  Then Andres took us out to sushi.  While there a tv was playing the worst videos!  It helped me realize the importance of the Gospel and keeping our minds clean.  However it did make it harder to do so.  Before that we felt the Spirit warn us to go into the house and pray.  So we went.  Then out of nowhere after our prayers a black cat entered our house.  After we tried to catch it we felt better.  We felt as if it was a test from God to see what we would do.  

Tuesday:

Elder Sheppard  said goodbye to everyone.  We couldnt do a ton because he had to pack.  However I felt the spirit and it was good.

Wednesday: 

I spent most of the day in Osorno.  It was a blast!  We sang before the new elders entered into the chapel., so that as they entered they could hear us singing.  I saw Elder Johnson come in super pumped and with a huge smile!  I felt the spirit strongly!  I am excited to work with him!

Thursday:  

We are the store house for the mission, so the zone leaders came to grab a bed for other sisters. It felt good to help out!  We also had a meeting with our mision leader and it was good.  

Friday:

We had a lesson with Andres this morning and it was good!  He promised to live the word of wisdom.  We had a heart to hear you could say about Baptism.  I in a nice way told him the importance of him to get baptised by someone who has the authority of God.  It was cool.  In my heart I was scared but God helped me pull through.  The spirit was present.  

Saturday:

We helped the sisters paint there new house.  It was a blast!

Sunday:

A less active guy that cant move and has to have a pipe give him air, came to church!  He gave his testimony, and it was great!  We then  

went to a less active house to ask a for half a peace of bread to bless the sacrament for somebody and when we asked the family for bread they gave us two big sandwhiches.  They were amazing!  I felt the spirit and thought about the promise in the Bible for those that help Gods servants.  I know God will bless them.  Also I thought about when we recieve callings or the opportunity to serve, instead of giving the minimum giving everything that we can!  Love you Mom!

What have you been up to today?

Today we went and talked to Andres in the morning. Later on in the night he is going to take us to sushi! Dont worry we got permision! Also in the morning we as a zone went to a beach called niebla, and took some pictures!

I will send some later! We will see about the sushi. Haha I try to do as obedient as I can. It is hard sometimes. I have been having problems in the mornings lately. However I am determined to get better.

In our sector it is really hard to sleep, because it is dangerous and there are people out all night.

Ashley go to wok two days a week at 4;30am!

she and kj also go to the temple at 4;30 one day a week.

Sometimes it is actually easier to wake up a bit earlier. try setting your alarm for just 15 mins earlier

Haha I will do that! There is a thing here called six months till sexy! I will start early I guess! When you are at six months missionaries eat super healthy and exercise in order to be skinny when they come home!

Haha I am starting to see my abbs now! So we will see how it goes!

I liked the old one. Just at the bottom it ripped because I have been carying a lot of weight in the bag. However it still works!

Yeah after a while they do. I try and cover all my stuff inside with plastic bags. That usually does the trick!

1/2 C Milk

1/C Peanut butter

3 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

3 Cups quick oats

Bring all ingredients to a boil then add oats And 1 Teaspoon Vanilla

Mix well drop by spoonfuls on wax paper
